About this product
The apparatus uses a flexible temperature controlled plate of low thermal inertia. Measurement of the power required to maintain the heated plate at a selected temperature, makes it possible to determine the heat transfer under different experimental conditions.
Teaching objectives
- Effect of variation of angle of incidence of a plate on the heat transfer by natural or forced convection.
- Measurement of thermal conductivity of different materials.
- Demonstration of the chimney effect.
- Radiation studies for black or grey plates and determination of their surface emissivity.
